Blythe, CA to Salome, AZ 62 miles. Total miles 182.

The morning started off with a trip across the pedestrian walkway attached to the I-10 bridge into Arizona. Given our experience, most were happy to exit the state of California. Sunny skies and temps in the 70’s made for a beautiful ride through the AZ desert to Salome. After exiting I-10 for the second time, we joined up with Highway 60 for a nice 10 mile descent. We all enjoyed the unique desert vegetation. The three recumbent riders owe a shout out to Dana from Bent Up Cycles for making the last two days of stellar riding possible. We also owe a shout out to Bob Lemke and his daughter-in-law Jeane Lemke for arranging the replacement of Bob German’s Garmin 800. Bob has been lost without it. The four of us traveling with Garmins find them invaluable for a trip like ours. On a lighter note, somewhere Brian managed to pick pink slippers and a sizeable rock in his bike bag…… ALLEN

Greta, all I can say is that I didn’t expect to get dishpan hands on this trip. Allen has been fighting me to be head dishwasher.

So sorry California left a sour taste in your mouth and hope nothing remotely similar happens on the rest of your ride. Every A.M. I pull out my Atlas to see where you are and enjoy updates and pics.
